A private secondary school that welcomes girls of every faith, and gives them the academic grounding, practical skills and confidence to lead the lives they choose.
Why Madad-Ul-Islam
Founded in the heart of Plaine Verte so that girls of the region would no longer have to go without a secondary education. Six decades later, that purpose has not changed.
A full secondary curriculum delivered by highly qualified educators, preparing students for national examinations and the study routes that follow.
Entrepreneurship, travel and tourism, agriculture, design and technology, and the trades. Practical subjects that let a young woman build her own income.
Girls of any religion are welcome here. The college has always been a meeting place for the whole neighbourhood, and it still is.

Our Story
In 1958 a building contractor named Sheik Adam Auladin noticed that while his neighbour's son could study at the Islamic Cultural College, the girls of Plaine Verte had nowhere to go. He took the idea of a girls' college to the Madad Ul Islam Society, a charitable body founded in 1902, and its members agreed at once.
Six years of door-to-door campaigning followed. In 1964 the college opened its doors to around thirty pupils under Mrs Fazilah Ramjan-Domah, who left a promising public sector career to lead it.
What guides us
Empowering learners with life skills and professional competencies for smart living.
To cultivate the creativity of our learners, equip them with negotiation, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, self-management and critical thinking skills, and develop in them values of respect for diversity, equity, inclusion and resilience.
Beyond the core subjects
Alongside the academic curriculum, students take practical subjects chosen so that a school leaver can start a small business or enterprise of her own.
Our campus
The school has the infrastructure required to form successful young people: eleven classrooms, three option rooms, and specialist spaces for science, computing, art, fashion, food and technology.
The Madad-Ul-Islam Girls' College has produced many professionals who are now serving the country in different fields. They have strived throughout their educational journey, climbing up the ladder towards a brighter and better future.
Life at the college
Sports day, the fashion show, field trips, charity work and the sixtieth anniversary celebrations.
